WasteWater Treatment Plant (WWTP) of Kyperounda, Cyprus

The works for the central sewerage system began in 1992 and were completed in 2002 for a large part on the eastern side of the community. This was the A phase of the project and covered about 90% of the constructions. In 2002, the Sewage treatment plant for tertiary wastewater was completed, serving a population of 2.400 people with a peak flow rate of 900 m3/d and an incoming BOD5 concentration of 210 kg/d. Currently, there is a comprehensive plan for the disposal of recovered water produced during wastewater treatment.

The Plant was put into operation in early 2003 and treats urban wastewater and sewage.
With the operation of the sewerage system, the cleanliness of the community and the environment was achieved and the residents' quality of life in this area was improved.

In 2009, the basic design for Phase B, which covers the needs of the Troodos Regional Hospital, was made, with a preliminary estimate of around 3 million euros.

Following the operation of the sewerage plant, numerous issues were discovered in both the central pumping station and the network, which we are attempting to resolve.
